Best time to train? Asking for opinions

I’m asking for opinions. I have a 3:30 a 3:30 after work. Or a 7pm. For weight training. That will give me about 1 1/2 hr. I prefer early mornings. So I can feed all day. I’m looking to put some mass on

Really depends when you can utilize your food the most. I feel early am training doesn’t give you time to fuel your body as at 3 am I don’t see you getting in food but if it works for you it’s cool because working all day sometimes you are just drained and want to skip. I’ve always trained in the pm after work and it’s always worked best for me. I did train before work for About a year. I liked getting done early but never really felt strong or fully awake. So for me that didn’t work best.

My best advice it to try both for a month or two and see how your body works and responds.

That’s why I’m asking opinions. I have a busy life with 3 kids in some kind of sports. Plus work. My 3am training days. I drink egg white and baby rice cereal. About 1 1/2 cups of egg whites and 2 cups of the cereal. Then head to the gym. 30 mins trying to wake up. Pwo. Then head to the gym. So maybe I’m fueled or not. But the rest of the day I’m feeding I tried after work. But I’m limited on time and I have people on there phone sitting on equipment. Pisses me off. Never tried the 7pm times but I feel like I will have majors problems going to sleep.

Baby cereal is amazing plus it’s easy to digest. Personally I couldn’t do the 3 am but sounds like it works for you and your lifestyle. I usually have no issues going to bed but I never sleep much either so who knows lol

I’ve always trained in the afternoon. I feel the most from supporting supplements and I have nothing in my gut food wise. But that’s been my training for 20 plus years.

I have problems goin to sleep, I like to lay there awake and think about what kind of donut I am going to get at Dunkin the next morning, then once I figure that out, I typically move onto the checklist of what I need to bring to work, so that entails tools and food, they usually are packed before bed, but I lay there and envision what I did already just to make sure, immediately following that, I dwell on how some things SHOULD have went different over seas, at this point I will probably get up and go piss and slam a water maybe even eat a snack, check on the kid and dogs, now I will lay back down and try not to do it all over again.

Man you guys should start a “Before sleep journal.” Write down all your thoughts before laying it down. Get it out if your head and on paper. That has been helping me a lot over the years. I still have troubles sleeping but I don’t have problems falling asleep anymore.

Hey give this a listen from my coach and see if this helps

I take Trazodone. Helps me with my depression and insomnia. I sleep a solid 7 to 8 hours every night.

I prefer morning training as well after a good night’s sleep on the weekend. But during the week I find it best to go straight to the gym after work at 3pm rather than go home and train at 7pm. I take preworkout in the gym parking lot then feel great after a few sets. If I go home I just want to lie down and rest. If I train at 7pm I’ll end up going to bed too late and not get enough rest for the next day.
