"bodybuilding" has made me develop a hatred for food

I found myself adding a natural homemade strawberry jam(no added sugar) to my chicken breast this afternoon just to be able to get it down… same with the oatmeal. I used to love eating and would eat so much until I started eating with a purpose haha.

Any tips for making the process more pleasant? I know regardless I just have to eat it so I do.

Lol that’s a funny one, I’m actually an excellent cook. Grew up with a family full of chefs and been cooking since a kid. My issue is not flavors, it’s textures with proteins. Being that I was a vegetarian for most of my life, the textures of proteins in large amounts just don’t agree with me.

Is it the chewyness of meat?

I moved to italy a few months ago, and i’ve been playing with local boar (very high in protein and low in fat) and rabbit. Rabbit is so low in fat, you actually die if you just eat rabbit meat. Sometimes it doesn’t turn out so good lol, but more often now it’s delicious. The meat in tuscany is excellent and i’ve been enjoying all kinds of meat besides chicken and beef all the time.

Yeah the chewiness is definitely part of it. That sounds good man, I’d love to be able to get good quality meats and/or hunt my own. Might be able to in the near future. How’s Italy? I love it there.

Haha stop being a pussy and eat it? Cause that’s what I tell myself. And yeah, used to be. Haven’t been for about 2-3 years now but I’m still not used to it like I should be

Life is very slow. It takes some getting used to in that aspect. But very beautiful and Great food.

Have you tried using more seafood? It’s less chewy than meat and I can usually eat more of it without being sick of it.

I too used to love my food. It is a chore sometimes to prepare and eat a lot of food day to day and it does get frustrating and boring and old as fuck real quick, especially when you look into the future and know that the majority of what you ate today, you’ll still be eating a month from now. All that said, I try to season my meals the best that I can and I try different ways of cooking things all the time. Baked, grilled, steamed, etc. Just no frying. I also try to mix it up the same way to change textures of food. Eating stuff cold, hot, warm whatever will change the texture just enough not to be bored. The only thing I just can’t stand is cold rice. In the end it still comes down to the same thing though. You know what you have to do so you do it.

Nope, cause I am working on not “coming at members” anymore, I was going to say weed, to make eating more enjoyable, but a lot of guys can’t because of jobs/life situations, and I do enjoy smoking, but it truely does help me with eating.

My job doesn’t give a shit if I smoke. Boss even cleared me to get my medical marijuana card. Problem is, we do jobs for the city a lot and they pay prevailing wages which is fat checks but because it’s the city, they all require a drug test on file and it has to be updated every few months. They actually give a shit though so it screws me out of it.

Haha I like it, you’re doing good bro. I commend any type of self improvement cause we could all use improvements in different aspects. Haven’t smoked in a while but you’re right, it does help.

Well as far as I can tell, you have what it takes to force feed, so you don’t need a crutch like I do.

Maybe so but I also don’t like being told what I can and can’t do on my own time. Especially when there’s fuckers with prescription opioids running the show but that’s ok and weed isn’t?

Whoa definitely off subject here. Way left. Gotta get back to center. Sorry @Islandswole didn’t mean to derail you bro

I feel ya brother, same ol shit day in day out. What helped me was I really don’t look at food as a pleasure anymore, I look at it as a necessity and fuel. I’m to the point where I just hand chop up every component to that meal, throw it in a bowl, season it, shovel it down. It also really makes me look forward to my cheat meals and I’ll go all out for cheat meals. I work in a kitchen full-time
so basically I’m planning out my cheat meal all week long😋. But in all seriousness, try out some different seasoning and marinades. Also cook your proteins differently, one day grill, one day saute, one day bake, and so on.
