Doctor put me on cipro and took a look at me and said not to train for a couple weeks hard at all. I know its a small chance of tendon rupture however I do feel aching in the joints a bit. Tightness like I need to force myself to stretch out. So a few easy weeks I’ll take off. Anyone have any issues with this in the past?

Yep… over did it and my elbows and all attaching things suffered.

My right arm was extremely fatigued from building my addition… swinging a framing hammer and everything else…when I fell through rafters…my right bicep finally gave in and tore away from elbow side.

To this day (several years later) both elbows are the weak link in the chain. I stretch and floss them along with heat/ice…

I’ll take it easy then. I feel like I’m about to throw up all the time right now anyway.

Oh man, be careful! A guy on professional muscle tore his quadriceps tendons from
Cipro. Not sure why that is still prescribed. Zpack for the win!

The nurse is me just can’t 😂😂 these are rarely interchangeable. They are often used in conjunction bc their spectrum of coverage is so different. If you’re prescribed cipro, and ask for a different antibiotic and they prescribe azythromycin… directly ask the doc what is treating against. Chances are if they switch you between those two, you need neither and they are simply prescribing to make you feel better.

Sorry. I’m not trying to be a know it all dick wad!! I promise. I’ve just been on the team for two separate published papers on bacterial resistance. So it hit right on my soft spot.

For the lay person, tendon rupture on cipro is rare. For someone your size @TG and anyone who is pushing their body the incidence is actually quite high. Best to take it easy.

This med is making me feel like shit (stomach issues) but I can actually feel it working on my lungs right after. In general from the lungs I feel better. Just hard to decide not to do shit at all when I use the gym to relax get my head straight.

If you go, I’d say do light weight, in small sets. Just like 15 sets of 10 with light weight. The danger with tendons on Cipro is the end range of tensile stress. Like Kobe being as big as he was, tore his achillies late in the game, not first thing.

If that makes any sense?
