These proton scammers have been active on other forums as well. If you have proton get 2fA for extra protection. They send emails that very much look like there coming from a source (or whoever they want)
There pretty crafty and people have lost money.

We had a sponsor lose 20k off a raws scammer saying he was vetted here not too long ago. He didn't bother checking and cost him. As long as people fall for them they'll keep doing them.
