I’m not sure if this matters or could be contributing but I did put the needle about halfway in then pulled it out and moved it to a different spot an inch or so away before sticking in and pinning. The soreness doesn’t really bother me it’s just the fact that my whole glute is now red -

Pinning Multiple Compounds in the Same Syringe
I was looking into to this (pinning test and deca together) and couldn’t really find any great instructions or videos showing how to to do this properly.
