    But it also depends on the type of meat too. It’s weird how they do it. For example Black angus and standard steer is 150-200lbs for a quarter Bison and beefalo (bison and beef mixed) is only 75 lbs a quarter. And you get 8 quarters from a single animal. Makes since right.

    Right now it is higher than usual because the butcher shops are understaffed and people are having a hard time getting cows in. I just paid 4.25 a lb hanging weight. A good price is around 3.50 a lb hanging weight. Sounds like you are getting a quarter because a half should be around 400lbs...

    Yessir, I usually get one every 3 months or so. It’s much cheaper in the long run and you get a lot of prime cuts for standard prices.

    That’s one reason I don’t ever think I could do bodybuilding. I see how precise everything they eat is and how measured out and I’m over here eating a whole pizza and wondering what’s for dinner later lol. I just got my half beef back and I measure my steak by the package, not ounce 😂
