Progress Update - Iron Moose Gym

That actually is kind of how I program my PPL. Often I’ll start will a core compound lift and go heavy with lower reps then go to higher reps later. Maybe to change things up more I could implant more of those remaining exercises to be in the 3-8 rep range. I like PPL so maybe if it isn’t broke...

Progress Update - Iron Moose Gym

Just a quick update on current progress that began late Dec 2021, overall currently hovering around 200-202 lbs at 6’ even. Waist is now smaller than when I was in HS (currently wearing 30 in waist with 32/34 length. Maybe some of you are better at estimating BF, but believe I’m sitting around...

November 22nd installment of diets and training

Haha yeah it does look a bit suspect after looking at the pic more closely, but have seen them make it. Just regular chicken breast strips dipped in some frying batter.

    Happy turkey day

Happy Thanksgiving! This year was time at my wife’s side of the family which is much smaller of a group than my side. Nice in a sense as it’s a bit quieter but with just my zoo of 7 total, no matter where we go it’s going to be loud and crazy! On my side we have enough kids under 14 years old to...

November 22nd installment of diets and training

Definitely the perks for working in the office. Almost worth just coming in for the food as it’s much cheaper and better than what I make at home!

November 22nd installment of diets and training

Adding my breakfast for today. Excited as I’m not in the actual office often these days as we all have essentially become hybrid/remote employees. But miss the cafeteria especially on Fridays! 2 chicken, egg, cheese biscuits and 2 sausage links. All that for just 2.50 😎

    Kids following example

It’s great when you can find a way to set the example such that your kids look forward to exercise and kind of get that it is important. Mine have at times been very pumped to go one just 1 to 1.5 mile walks, so I’ll take them with me before I go 3-4 miles. For me walking has been sufficient to...

    Kids following example

This was one benefit of building my own home gym in the garage. I have 5 kids, one is 13 so I’ve been starting to get him into the basics (currently playing football and travel baseball). The rest are a bit too young, though them seeing what goes on in the gym definitely has skewed their...

    Well totaled car today

That’s terrible…hope you can still at least enjoy the game on TV though I can only imagine how amazing an opening game at Ohio State would be. I went to a Big 10 school but tailgating never could compare to a Michigan or Ohio State.

4 Post to 6 Post Rack Complete!

Wow! Learn something new everyday! That’s a really interesting background on tape.

4 Post to 6 Post Rack Complete!

Yeah I know! My wife is a saint as when more than 4 kids needs to go somewhere and I can’t go, she typically handles it (dropping off for pre K and the second oldest to school which is where she teaches too). I can haul a few around in my fairly small 4 door sedan, but recently it’s been just me...

4 Post to 6 Post Rack Complete!

Lol, my taping speed isn’t 100mph, but as quick as I can. I know you probably meant 100% of all seams…just made me laugh reading it first time. 😎

4 Post to 6 Post Rack Complete!

Yes I did. I used gorilla tape as even though each 6x4 ft stall weighs around 90lb a piece, they still move a bit and having a small gap just annoyed me. I ended up taping all seams probably close to a year back and they’ve been holding up well (also makes it easier to clean with either a broom...

4 Post to 6 Post Rack Complete!

LOL YES IT IS. With 5 kids didn’t have too many alternatives to get them around. Wife loves it I despise it…would rather have a full size van kind of like A-Team style!

4 Post to 6 Post Rack Complete!

OPERATION Rack Extension complete! Added another post to turn my power rack into a 6 post as I needed a bit more weight in the back for support/safety and the added storage space is great - it stores my pairs of deep dish 100s and 45s on one side. I then put a vertical barbell holder on the...

August 11th installment of diets and bodybuilding

Good morning! This morning went with a quick breakfast using the blender. Concoction of egg whites, Kodiac chocolate oatmeal, sugar free French vanilla creamer, ice, and a little milk to top it off. Likely will be eating a solid meal in a few hours!

Belt Squat - New addition and setup

This is what they have. I think it also comes with a chain and a strap to hook up at the top of the rack, but my belt/leather strap works just fine up top and I have enough chains around here. 😎

Belt Squat - New addition and setup

Though I don’t make a living doing that stuff I am with you there as I like messing with things that work well already only to improve a bit on how they work. So moving the attachment all the way the front of the rack definitely made a huge difference as I no longer need to stand on plates to...

Belt Squat - New addition and setup

Yeah that’s what I’m going to do next time as I can move it further back and that will decrease the slack more. May end up being enough that I won’t need to stand on the plates. Glad I got the rack that is longer inside or I wouldn’t be able to move it much more.
