The Bodybuilding Godfather, Joe Weider launched Mr. Olympia Contest in 1965, to give buff dudes who’d conquered Mr. Universe a new challenge (and a paycheck!). It quickly became the ultimate battleground for sculpted physiques.
The first competition took place in Brooklyn, New York, with Larry Scott taking home the title (and repeating his win in 1966).
