Been thinking about this heavy the past couple weeks. Ever since I started dialing in my cut, I’ve noticed something kinda funny, even when I look my best, I don’t always feel my strongest. And when I’m at peak strength, I’m usually holding a little more fluff than I’d like. It’s like you’re always trading something. More carbs? Full, pumped, strong as hell… but softer.
More deficit? Crispy, lean, lines everywhere… but strength dips just enough to annoy you.
Enhanced life definitely helps close that gap, but it doesn’t erase it. I know some dudes chase pure aesthetics, others chase numbers, and the rest of us are trying to juggle both like idiots who love pain. Personally, I love looking lean and nasty with the veins popping, but man there’s nothing like moving heavy weight with clean reps. It’s addicting. Trying to find that middle ground where you look shredded but still move heavy weight
Curious where everyone here leans.
Do you chase strength first and let the physique follow? Or do you prioritize the mirror and keep strength “good enough”?
Do you train with the main goal of looking your best or performing your best?
When you cut, do you try to maintain strength at all costs, or do you accept some loss as normal? Has anyone actually found that “sweet spot” where strength stays high and aesthetics peak? And how do you mentally deal with the trade-offs when you switch phases?
