Belt Squat Attachment Maiden Voyage

Todays squat training was a doozy. I took council from @NeuroRN and am transitioning away from squatting all the time and will be incorporating belt squats into my rotation. I finished my attachment last weekend and used it today. I was a little cautious on the loading and just wanted to get in a good session to see if anything will break. The following is what I did.

Warmup probably 40 total reps up to 4 plates.

4 plates x 12,12,12,12

Strip set 4 plates x 12, 3 plates x 12, 2 plates x 12… head to yard so I don’t puke in the gym but legs weren’t working well!!!

Take away.

I can lean back and utilize glutes or fwd for 90% quads.

The cheapo belt is crap. Can’t wait to get a good one.

My legs have the biggest pump that I’ve had in years.

My back and the rest of my body feels almost zero fatique.

More… 4 plates was pretty heavy. Not a light movement by any means. I can see moving up to 6 plates with a better belt.
 
I can see where a stand-alone machine would be awesome!

If I weren’t such a pack rat I would have the room.
 
No need. Step into the belt… get it situated… lift up on toes bout an inch… kick stand retracts… squat.

I can go azz to grass and the part closest to me will hit a bit. I drilled up the bolt attaching it to my rack and have a spring loaded qd pin in it so i will play with it. It can be mounted farther up if need be… takes seconds to detach and store or adjust.
 
Your a fucking genius. Love it!!! My internet works here only late night as am camping in Indiana so I wake up look at this stuff and bam I see your stuff. You should make me one I’d buy it!!
 
Belt squats are one my favorite movements, when I got into powerlifting briefly I was introduced to it and I’ve been sold since then. The leg and strength development once I found this movement was insane.
 
Yessir I’ve been reading about them for years and haven’t heard one bad thing about them. I need to start practicing “harm reduction” on my training movements.

If I wasn’t such a lazy azz, I would have had one years ago.
 
Lame pic from yesterday. I tried getting one of my quads. I got a little meat there… I want more and losing some more bf will help.
