Interesting article on when and how steroid use was demonized and eventually controlled in the United States.

Here is a take away I found interesting-

“When hearings were held regarding the lawmaking surrounding anabolic steroid laws, congress besought the opinion and help of four major professional organizations regarding the hot topic of anabolic steroids: the American Medical Association (AMA), the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). The most important detail here is that all four of these chief influential administrations stated very clearly that they were all fervently and vociferously opposed to the notion that anabolic steroids should be criminalized and be categorized as controlled substances. Each and every one of these major professional organizations brought forth the scientific and statistical facts to Congress that supported the idea that the use of anabolic steroids does not lead to the two requirements for a substance becoming a scheduled drug. The two requirements are physical dependence, and psychological dependence, both of which are not expressed what so every by anabolic steroids. Rather than listening to these major organizations and following their advice, Congress selected instead to disregard all of the medical and scientific evidence presented before them by these representatives at Capitol Hill and decided to schedule anabolic steroids regardless.”

What is eye opening is the harm that these laws are actually doing all in the name of controlling steroid use due to its supposed impact on competitive sports vs. public safety.

I definitely got caught up reading that… so many amazing points, unfortunately it’ll probably only get more strict or harsh!
It really is kind of bothering how they relate steroids to things like cocaine, meth, opiates in a drug category. Especially like the article said steroids are methodically planned overtime not for a “high”!

Im sorry I don’t usually go off at the mouth like that but I never new about this. I was for sure that after all 3 bans have taken place that all of these groups which are not at all nonbias towards the decision to ban and schedule aas and the other pre and prohormones plus synthetic bans that followed. If these groups did this study and all agreed not to schedule the compounds why would Congress do such a thing.
They do it so that the big pharma companies who pay for their campaigns get to control the market place and sell what they want to sell and also price control the market.
They might have well just have banned everything without even a study done. It could have saved tax payers millions of dollars.
I have a strong opinion on even marijuana being legalized atleast for medical purposes.
I do understand though that legalization of marijuana might not be a great idea.
When it comes to aas being legalized I also don’t believe that it is a good idea but I do believe that just like marijuana if you want to get a prescription then why not be able to have a sports doctor or whatever they could call the specialist field be able to prescribe you the testosterone methenolone or whatever compound that you want to be using. You would be under doctor supervision and getting blood work done.
You would be doing it the safest way possible.
I have never understood why you can travel to multiple countries and walk right into a pharmacy and buy anything that you want besides the really addictive drugs. Aas not being considered in these countries as a bad drug. If you wanted they will sell you there whole supply that they have in the pharmacy all at once no questions asked and some of these countries are not the 3rd world countries that you would imagine that im talking about.
In 2012 the United kingdom under pressure from other countries (usa) decided to change its laws on importation but procession is still not even a crime.

In the Caribbean, South America , Asia , Eastern Europe, and sub Asia (India and surrounding countries) all have really no problem with there citizens using or possessing aas.
Honestly if I were to become a pro bber I would get a 6 month work visa and travel to a country that I would be able to get whatever I needed without fear of being incarcerated.
The views of the usa and other countries towards some things that are controlled substances confuses me. Lets talk about alcohol because we have a great experiment with alcohol because it was legal and then a group of people in America decided that it was the devil and should be illegal. Then prohibition started. The only thing that changed was that the criminals became as rich as the government from sales of alcohol. I also believe that the consumption of alcohol actually increased during prohibition.
Now were seeing the same results with marijuana. The states that have ended the prohibition of marijuana have seen a decrease in violent crime and have seen there school systems go from the bottom of the list in the ranking of how good they educate children to the top this is due to the extreme amount of tax revenue that they collect. I actually believe that alchohol should be taxed just as much and also gambling profits from casinos should also have very high taxes and if these 3 things were made legal across the usa and the tax collected from them. We could have the best school systems in the world and would have a surplus of tax funds for many different projects that could be done improving the community where you live.

Great post I could go on forever about the situation with controlled substances and the way that they are scheduled being so ridiculous.
