I have never kept a food journal and i have always kinda winged it with prepping my meals… i always put on some good size and reach close to my goal but i feel like what i really want is out of reach because i guess i dont really know my body as well as i should like food intake… my question is where do i start with keeping track and tweaking diet? Im 30 years old short and stocky 5’4” currently 175lbs and work outside in the florida heat all day manual labor and train 7 days a week when i can… any tips or help?

I think there are more of us in this boat than you might think bro. Myself included. Keeping a journal or a log is a great way to track progress, keep yourself accountable, have a history of what worked and what didn’t etc etc. I highly recommend doing it even if it’s a personal journal you keep.

I know for myself that my workouts are tough and I never quit. I will fail lifts. I will fail reps. I’ll push myself to the point of puking. Though my nutrition, on the surface, looks on point for most people, it’s not for me. It’s my weak spot on the journey to achieving my goals. I prep well 90% of the time but still fail some weeks at dumb shit. Like I forgot to grab something while grocery shopping. Which for me is a shit show because I live out in the country and only make it out grocery shopping once every 2 weeks. So if I forgot something then I don’t get it until I shop again. It’s stupid shit like that, that will keep me from achieving my nutrition goals daily or even weekly.

Yea im gonna start i guess ill just keep eating how i have been currently and maybe when i reach a certain point switch something up and see if that does anything… i guess im just not sure if im even eating enough or eating the rite way at times… not sure if im getting enough protein or carbs or anything because at the end of the week i have nothing to look at to even know how much im taking in

Despite my own downfalls I’m pretty good at helping other people with their nutrition. There’s some good articles on here that could help you get a starting point and there’s a few of us that could help you get dialed in. As always though, it’s up to you to stay the course and remain dedicated and consistent. I think the majority of us know that though lol. Let me know if you need some help and if I can’t help I know quite a few others that can.
