Kidney support

liver support for me is 100mg of Glutathione daily, in order to maximize inject glutathione efficiency we actually need to maximize vitamin C and vitamin E levels. As well as supplement with oral zinc. 2gm of TUDCA daily. NAC is added if using orals.

I know this is an old post, but can you help me understand the relationship between tudca and taurine, please?
Are we looking primarily at Kidney Support, or are we wanting to tackle the basics of the most important ones that all of this we enhance our bodies with affect more so than others??

Neuro can direct you in what is tried and true in both Kidney and Liver support/protection, but obviously, your consistent labs will let you know what’s going on.

@BigBoy308 blood work always tells the story we ACTUALLY need to know.

It’s my understanding that tudca is beneficial for protecting the liver, not the kidneys. I’ve read that it’s frequently administered in acetaminophen overdose cases because of the damage that occurs in the liver.

No doubt, and I typically get mine done every 6-8 weeks. I’m due soon, but past bloodwork has been acceptable for me. Just the typical elevated ldl with lower hdl, elevated rbc.

Primarily I’m curious about the relationship between tudca and taurine, both of which I supplement with, but without giving any thought to the relationship between the two.

I take the tudca for liver health and the taurine I started taking after getting some rather intense muscle cramps when I first started running gear.

I was told taurine could help with the cramps, and it appears that may be true, although I also really upped my hydration and minding my electrolytes, so that may be what did it as well.

TUDCA has taurine in it. If not the compound would be UDCA. Not sure if I was on TUDCA I'd be doubling up on the Taurine.

Taurine has been well documented to be safe in doses up to 6-8grams a day.
