5 million goes by fast. And athletes have it backwards in terms of career earnings. They get it in the front end of their life unlike most people who make more at the later stages.
Net worth can also take a beating. It includes property so if he goes broke he may not be able to sell the house at market value. Probably some assets in companies that can go down.
5 million is pretty low for net worth for an athlete in his prime or just past. What’s he gonna do for money after?
My father retired with significantly more as his net worth at 50. And he lives way more frugal as a couple years past at 56. You live a long ass time these days he says lol.

Yeah, it really depends on your lifestyle. My dad spent a lot while getting rich. He grew up super poor in his country without a degree. Started a company and became one of the largest in his country.
6 years into retirement, he’s like I don’t know if I’m going to live to 70 or 90+. There’s a huge difference trying to make that money stretch. Also some of that is assets in stock and property. Both can just drop at any time.

Property tax is ridiculous. Especially if you own expensive property. I remember when I got my first car. It was real nice. And then one day I got a letter asking me to pay property tax on it. It changed my whole view of how the government works. I got to pay tax on things I fucking own???TG said:
