Instead of putting all the updates on the diet daily thread figured I’d start a thread dedicated to Joe as I will be probably updating his progress post surgery as well. For months with recovery and training to get back what he’s lost etc.
 
Here is his post surgery room.

Never seen this much stuff around a patient bed before. Sure you’ve prolly seen this @NeuroRN

Before he’s in there I would be tryingto play with everything. I’m the kid that got into ruble by hs trainer for playing with defib

That’s a kick ass unit right there. Those booms are the fucking tits. I’ve only worked a few places with them and they make life SOOOO much better. Looks like a well funded facility.

Ask questions. About everything. Don’t let them not tell you what things are. If you have a question about what or why… ask. If you don’t understand the explanation, ask again.

Surgery is right now. Dr Kim is the surgeon. She’s a children’s hospital surgeon she has done a ton of these. And yes Childrens is very well funded. Not a lot of philanthropist donate for adults. But everyone wants to help the children and animals. Very blessed to have this hospital so close to home. It’s only hour drive.

I did. Not quite as in depth as your son’s. I used a pediatric neurosurgeon as well. I remember thinking he was crazy when he said he had a full 1/4 inch before he was near anything the would kill me.

I was like bitch, did you just say 1/4 inch?! Like it was one of the Great Lakes it was so much room 😂😂😂 he was like yeah buddy. I’m used to only have A singular mm.

Those vein finders are dope. We usually have to use an ultra sound machine, we’re not “supposed” to at the hospital I’m at now. Cmon guys. It’s not hard out the needing in the circle on screen that doesn’t have a pulse and we’re good to go.
 
Dam. Ya quarter inch shit sometimes my nerves can shake a quarter inch. That’s nuts. That when we need a robot to do it.

They just sent me update. Everything smooth so far and they are starting to close up the incision.

Joe is worried about losing his muscle and athleticism over next few months with the recovery process. I was trying to find your progress pics cause if I remember right they were from post surgery to current. I cannot there is so many topics your in lol. Thought he would be encouraged by them.
