Im gonna quit… have got to quit!
I really dont have much encouragement to do it but @NeuroRN suggested it so im gonna give it hell. Right now with out sleeping im touching 3 packs a day… i know its bad. I can feel it for sure. And with my stress load it all just compounds into one helluva addiction.
Everyone on here has been good about talking about themselves quitting cigs and dip which helps me alot knowing people sort of that can and have done it.
Ive been smoking for 20 years now but never other than lately have i smoked so much.
And w my medical issues i dont need anymore help getting sick lol
Ive quit opioid addiction which i did a whole lot when i did them everyday never ever will i take another i dont care how bad it hurts im off them
Ive also quit drinking because im not 1 that can have just 1 or two so im proud of that accomplishment as well. Im no longer a daily blackout drunk.
Now on to tobacco
If yall have any good tips or if youve quit, or wanna try w me im all ears.
Started when last night and its tough but usually i dont sleep so i hit them hard all night like a pack or so ive had 2
My plan is go to town when everything opens up and buy a vape, along w patches and gum and whatever else they got…and it wont be soon enough
I just gotta quit this is way 2 much

A word of caution carried over from your other thread.

It’s apparent those other folks had an exit plan…good on them for using their noodle. I did NOT and am still struggling. I got on the lozenges and ~8 years later I’m still on them. They ain’t cheap and are easy to abuse.

My next major endeavor in life is to kick nicotine all together.

Be careful my brother.

…or choose to do something that is the opposite of an un-healthy act.

For instance, everytime I want a cig I will do 25 pushups/25 situps/25 burpees/ 25 air squats.

That should be equal time to smoking, provide a negative reinforcer, and a positive outcome.

maybe get you tired enough to sleep at the end of the day if you’re banging 3 packs. 😬

That would wear me out too. That’s it…time for a nap.

Btw….razors can’t touch this sweet fur coat. Need a weedwhacker or bush hog.

I smoked for 5 years when I was 18 then quit cold turkey cause of a girl, remember being pretty mentally out of it for a few weeks. The gum/patch should help. I picked up dipping years later, then recently switched to lozenges and Zyn. Quit those recently. One thing I will say is the urges come on strong but they’re usually in waves in my experience. Like a 15 minute period of reallllyyy fucking wanting nicotine. You just gotta withstand it and it will go away. It will obviously come back again, but the waves should be less and less frequent as you go.

Well ive been up since 2 am and worked all day ive had 13 today which coming from 60 i can already tell a difference. But yeah its definitely a mental game. Feel spacey and yes i could double barrel two cigs 4 ft long but im holding my spot

And here is supper gonna need some nicotine gum after this meal 4 sure

When I dipped my favorite part was watching
The spit go down the bottle gross but it’s usually everything that comes with it that people start to be addicted to
