Crazy ice storm this year!

Man this ice storm in Texas was wild. We’re not used to cold weather like this. Normally the low at this time of year is around 40 Deg. Not 5 lol. Finally got power back today around 3:00 then once the pipes thawed out enough I had two busts in the copper tubing. Just got it fixed and an finally getting to relax.

How was this latest weather for u guys?

My brother landed in Texas a week ago to do some predeployment training before he ships to Afghanistan. He’s gonna go from one extreme temp to the other haha. He said it was nuts down there. Just not prepared for weather like that and just hit everyone there hard

Yea def Hit us hard. I have a couple generators but still it was very different. We’re used to hurricanes but not ice storms.

And yes going from one spectrum to the other on temp is an easy way to get sick.

Bruh it’s crazy what’s been going on for you guys over in Texas. Bunch highschool classmates that live there have lost power in the midst of it all. Hope you guys are dealing ok.

Yea we lost power for a couple day but like I said we have a Gen and space heaters. So we’re good until everything started to thaw out and realized some pipes were busted. 2 leaks in the attic where the master bathroom pipes run. That god it was leaking in the laundry room so we got it fixed pretty quick before It ruined some stuff. But we’re blessed, and am willing to help others when I can. I know my friend lost power and stayed with me and the fam and before the power got cut back on it was 39 in his house.

I don’t know about global warming but things have been pretty erratic. Not sure the problem maybe it’s just starting to be the end times. And yea it was el-nino amd something else.

The earth goes in cycles. Just like AAS. Lol. Ocean currents change in pacific more erratic. In the Atlantic I believe there is a warm current that slowly moves towards the coast and back out again and it’s like a twenty year cycle. It affects our snowfall quite a bit. If you read the Farmers Almanac it predicts the types of summers and winters we are going to have based off these cycles. Our Great Lake Michigan has about a twenty year cycle. Water levels go down down down and you can see the old docks 100 yards from the water and it’ll be like that for years. Then everyone says at this pace the lakes will be gone in 100 years and try to sound smart. Then all of a sudden it’s flooding piers and jettis. And it’s a historical high. Then everyone freaks out and puts huge stones all over the shoreline because scientists say at this rate there won’t be any shoreline left. It’s so stupid. Ask the real old people who have lived on the lake for 80 years. They tell the stories of how it’s always changing one way or another but it’s cycles.

Yes rusty I totally agree with you. Like I said earlier we haven’t seen weather like this since 1997. That was 24 years ago. U hit that on the money. I’m not an old timer but I’m not sold on the whole Climate Chamge Scare either. I feel the media try to portray this crazy shit to get everyone to freak out and spend money on new shit to make the wealthy even richer cause they are already 10 steps ahead of normal citizens like us.

I’m at 19 inches of snow and a forecast on Friday for 5-8 more. Been over ing anywhere from 15 to -15 degrees the last week. But it’s warm in the house. Hope all is well for you now.

Ha ha @BCmatt I’m northeast I love the cold.we have had a steady foot a snow on ground, our lakes have at least a foot a ice and were gettinanother half foot snow tomorrow
