Cutting and cutting compounds

I was curious as to everyone’s thoughts regarding adding compounds when cutting. Let me say first though that I agree that there is no substitute for proper diet and training. Now that that is out of the way, I know it’s a fairly popular perspective that most compounds are not necessary if you body fat is above 15%. I will say that just the introduction of Test at about 250mg weekly made a significant differences in my ability to lose fat. My waist shrunk and I got bigger in the past year after I started. I would like to hear others opinions and what they have used to facilitate their cuts and did you wait until sub 15% bf to add anything?

Running in a caloric deficit will cause a loss of muscle tissue. Adding compounds limits the loss of muscle tissue during the deficit. While you may not see the “effects” of a compound unless you are a low percent body fat… they will still aid in the retention of muscle mass.
 
Diet is number 1, as you clearly seem to understand. Compounds will always help. What to consider for compounds to add is all individualized as to me it seems like the known cutting compounds tend to have more risks and side effects.

Something particular you’re considering?
 
I am planning on running HGH. I like Var and Mast although they seem to give me a bit of back acne and I hesitate on running the var to long due to cholesterol issues.
 
I’ve never used HGH, so not familiar. Var and mast are pretty safe for the most part. Don’t know if I’d call them “cutting” compounds per say, but they can help retain muscle and keep the water retention lower. Just watch your hairline haha
 
What seems to work best for me is to gain muscle and when doing so focusing on macros. Keep calories a little below or above what I need to maintain body weight. Suck down about 300 grams protein a day and the rest in good carbs and good fats. Once I start adding around five pounds of muscle until the end of the cycle the fat seems to melt away. I don’t loose any weight but I gain muscle and my pants fall off lol.

That is the goal right there! I am not sure how much bigger I am going to get at this point, but I can’t stop trying.
 
I am no nutritionist just put together that from things guys here told me about. It worked for me.
 
Yeah cutting compounds I think of tren, clen, dnp, etc.

But mast and var can definitely assist in a cut, and would be less problematic than any of the above. As far as muscle retention and keeping estrogen lower/less water
 
Thats what I do to… always felt like people put too much time and effort into “cutting”. When you compete and you’re literally trying to maintain a certain weight class it’s gets very specific yeah… before I started power lifting pre-COVID I fought in the cage and that was very specific with my diet trying to maintain 175 lb’s but when you’re just trying to get rid of fat and you have all these steroids running through your body it’s really not rocket science
 
You can “cut” with any compounds @PHD who is a pro has talked about cutting with dbol if your diet is on point… when I think of cutting, I think mast,winny, you can cut on tren but when I use it it’s to bulk,superD you can cut with, halo,anavar,EQ. Already been said DIET is key, I’d recommend cardio,however I don’t do that shit.
 
Someone said DNP but that shits dangerous I wouldn’t recommend it, unless your crazy or doin a show, to me the risks far outweigh the gains, most sponsors don’t even carry it
 
I said DNP. Just as that’s one of the ones I think of when people talk about cutting compounds.

In no way do I recommend it, I should’ve been more clear and was trying to make a point that it’s one of the more problematic compounds

Lol. Thank you. I am no spring chicken. Maybe when I was in my 20s. Now I pretty much stick to the least harsh sides. Hence the Var and Mast. My first go at this was from a friend (who is about 20 years younger- wife’s friends boyfriend). Anyway, he is pretty cut so we started talking and I was expressing my difficulty cutting. So he says “I got you”. He sells me three compounds and says fill the syring to here with this and here with this and start the oral next week. So I did. Like an idiot. It was Tren, Test and Winny. After two weeks my BP was 190/170 and my junk started failing intermittently. I started researching from there (like I should have first). I like to play it safe. I have three little girls I need to stay around for (although I want to be huge when they start dating lol).
 
@John can cut on quarter pounder with cheese and large fries. He isn’t fair. Us big guys are just big guys by nature. I know a guy who is a big ass dude. He dead lifts 800 pounds. He looks pretty good and he did do a show once where he got his BF down under 10 percent. He was miserable and swore to never do it again. For me. If I can finish getting rid of my muffin top and get my upper body solid I’ll be happy at 12 percent bf Haven’t been there since college. But I don’t think I was ever less then that.
 
I was around 11 in college, but I played soccer so I ran a shitload. I also ate everything in site. Now I think I can bulk on a hand full of almonds a day. I would be happy around 12-15% now. Something I can maintain and still have a life. I am not trying to compete, just look good naked.
