I have quite a bit of experience with DNP. Its risks are generally very over exaggerated, and usually by people that have no firsthand knowledge of it. Having said that, let me be clear, it IS a dangerous compound if used incorrectly.
The usual beginner dosing protocol is to start at 125-250mg for a few days, and if no rashes or weird sides develop, increase the dosage by one pill every few days. If you start feeling a tingling in your hands or feet, you may be developing PNS so discontinue use immediately. If so, DNP just isn’t for you. Some get it, some don’t. Dosage and length of time on seem to have a correlation to PNS symptoms. I’ve gone up to 750 for awhile. It was absolutely fucking awful. My sweet spot is somewhere between results and sides 250-500 (the right answer should scale to your bodyweight) Results may increase linearly, but sides seem to increase exponentially. Past a point the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.
Also keep in mind it has a 36hr half life. This means the dosage accumulated over time. In other words, it takes a few days to build up in your system. Don’t pop a pill and assume it’s not working, and just pop more.
Supplements like Vitamin E and C are highly recommended, as are things like fish oil. Avoiding carbs is preferable unless you want to uncontrollably sweat. Results are very fast. I can eat like a pig and still drop weight faster than when I PSMF, and if your diet is on point 1lb/day is a realistic goal. Also, unlike other diet tools like T3, it’s somewhat anti-catabolic. It prefers to burn fat over muscle. You’d still want to be on some sort of AAS, but if you weren’t it wouldn’t kill you as bad as T3 supplementation.
^ None of this is as important as diet. With a strict PSMF diet I can rock a steady 2.5lb/wk after water/glycogen stores are accounted for. With no substances other than protein powder.
