Diindolylmethane (DIM) is a compound derived from the digestion of indole-3-carbinol, which is found in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, and kale. DIM is often taken as a supplement due to its potential effects on estrogen metabolism. Here’s how it works:

1. Modulation of Estrogen Metabolism:

  • Estrogen Metabolites: Estrogen is metabolized in the liver into various metabolites, some of which have stronger estrogenic effects than others. DIM is thought to promote the conversion of estrogen into its “good” metabolites, particularly 2-hydroxyestrone (2-OHE1), which is considered protective.
  • Reduction of Harmful Metabolites: DIM helps reduce the formation of “bad” estrogen metabolites, such as 16-alpha-hydroxyestrone (16α-OHE1), which is associated with a higher risk of estrogen-dominant conditions like breast cancer and other hormonal imbalances.

2. Estrogen Balance:

  • Estrogen Receptor Modulation: DIM can act as a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It may help balance estrogen levels by modulating the activity of estrogen receptors, ensuring that estrogen’s effects are neither too strong nor too weak.
  • Support for Hormonal Balance: By promoting healthier estrogen metabolism and reducing the influence of more potent estrogen metabolites, DIM can help maintain a better balance between estrogen and other hormones like progesterone, which is crucial for overall hormonal health.

3. Anti-Androgenic Effects:

  • Reduction of Androgen Conversion: DIM may also reduce the conversion of testosterone to estrogen via the enzyme aromatase. This is particularly beneficial for individuals with conditions like estrogen dominance or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), where high levels of estrogen or its metabolites can cause issues.

4. Antioxidant and Anti-Inflammatory Properties:

  • Cellular Health: DIM also exhibits antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which may further support cellular health and hormone regulation.

5. Potential Anti-Cancer Properties:

  • Protection Against Hormone-Dependent Cancers: Because of its ability to influence estrogen metabolism and reduce harmful estrogen metabolites, DIM has been studied for its potential role in reducing the risk of hormone-dependent cancers, such as breast and prostate cancer.
In summary, DIM helps with estrogen by promoting the formation of beneficial estrogen metabolites, reducing harmful ones, balancing estrogen levels, and possibly offering protective effects against hormone-related cancers.

200mg daily will usually lessen the requirement of a SERM or AI while you are “on”… within reasonable dosing.

Dirt, this one probably won’t work for you.

I personally only use DIM as my sole estrogen control I find it much more stable & much more beneficial to my sex life than amridex. I take 600-900mg in the morning & before bed which I know is a lot but I’m running 600+mg of test e per week so it’s needed but it literally works perfect for my estrogen control levels & it’s much easier on my body!!!

Have you had labs drawn? What’s is your bf%?

That’s double and triple over recommended dose.

I would imagine it’s affecting your serum sodium levels at that dose.

If you need that much for 600mg of test a week you may wanna try a different ai.

I haven’t had labs drawn in a few months but I plan to again soon. Remember DIM is just extracted from cabbage broccoli & such. When I had bloods drawn my serum sodium was in range & I’ve been using DIM for months. I also use defend cycle support & organ protection. When I say 600+ I mean between 600-900mg, typical AI’s fuck me up. I make a liquid solution of 1mg of adex in 10ml of water & take 1ml daily(in the past) but I did it recently & literally couldn’t get hard for a week even with cilas so I stick to DIM like I said it works for my sex life the best. Cum easy, rock hard, always horny, no sore nips, no acne etc etc. I will have labs drawn & report back but so far DIM has been a life saver.

lol yes I know. Just because something is extracted from a plant doesn’t mean it’s safe to take in high levels… but hey. Do you my man.

Also my DIM capsules are 300mg to begin with so they’re already above the recommended dose you stated, and it definitely isn’t smart or recommended to take large doses just because it comes from a plant but at the same time I feel like it still has to be safer than literally taking a cancer treatment drug… I have a ton of arminidex at home but since I found DIM I haven’t touched it. But I will draw bloods & report back, like I said my decision is solely based upon my sex life. DIM doesn’t drop my estrogen too low like ADEX

As I said, do you my man. And just so we’re all on the same page… an on label use of aromatase inhibitors is the treatment of male gynecomastia. So cancer drug is a little misleading.
