Sup fellas? Haven’t posted in a bit had a shitty week of the hurricane, gym got flooded etc.
This past weekend we host a “warriors” weekend and 9/11 ceremony. A charity that I work with that supports wounded veterans called Catch A Lift had our big weekend and it was awesome. We have 6,500 vets in the program now and every year we bring a dozen or so out to a very wealthy town here for some fun. I got to work with a vet who is totally blind from a GSW to the head, a green beret with 13 combat deployments and a multitude of injuries. Listening to the stories and being able to give back was amazing. The vets have an absolute blast getting spoiled for 4 days and for me being a firefighter and getting to work with them was literally the most rewarding weekend I’ve had. The guys couldn’t be more grateful, thanking all of us for everything and I just kept telling them you don’t owe me (us) any thank you at all, we owe you everything. Got to make some grate fiends and share space with some absolute warriors.
Any of the vets on here that would like to get involved please reach out. It truly is an amazing charity and to quote a seal team 2 guy “ these guys (the charity) actually does exactly what they say they do, which is pretty cool” .
Look up catch a lift and see what we are about.
Also, Thankyou to all our vets on here for kicking ass the last 20 years, we all appreciate your sacrifice.
