Hardcore is Hardcore

I’ve read things about him before…and I agree,hard-core is hard-core,don’t matter if it’s learned or comes natural,or what Branch of the Service one was in,although I favor Marines if I had to pick.Even one of my brother in laws,he’s a tough motherfucker,a civilian but hard nonetheless.

Some of the toughest dudes I’ve been on missions with were the civilian contractors, majority of em had prior military service but some didn’t, I kinda look at like your either built for it or your not

Well @Poppy there was one time over seas, where I froze,on a roof top posting security, and they started lighting that house up,and I dropped to my stomach, and it took me a second or two to get up and return fire…

Lt Col Dave Grossman has a book on this if you havent read it. On Killing was his first and On Combat was his second. They’ve gotten mixed reviews but he makes some very good points in both. Worth a read.

Scared will keep you alive…it highlights every sensory function…that’s normal. What’s not normal is when you embrace it…that’s what sets apart hardcore fightes from just plain tough fighters…IMO.

Scared IMO = being human. In these life/death situations I can only imagine, as I never served. Thank you to all the current and vets out there that have done their best to keep our freedoms here that many take for granted.
