Once he sees the Comp doctor 1x he’s meet his requirement. He is free to find another doctor that works with Comp. There are a ton. He’s not locked into 1. Have him do some homework and he needs an MRI if he hasn’t already had one. If he has screen shit the report and let me read it

That sounds backwards if its a full tear you need surgery. Im no doctor just from experience my knee was a full tear I didn’t get surgery it doesn’t work very well and my bicep I got surgery and it atleast works it can’t lift heavy but it works my knee will just fall out from underneath me

If the tendons are infact complelty separated surgery will be necessary.
This is true, but I have been told that sometimes tendons will “remodel” themselves overtime, albeit partially with substandard scar tissue. So one may regain a modicum of strength in the tendon, but without the previous durability and with the constant threat of re-tearing. This is the explanation provided to me about how I can have three full-thickness rotator cuff tears in my left shoulder and still lift. No basis for me to evaluate the accuracy of this, but I have read radiology reports on my shoulder referring to “surprising amount of remodeling”.

Understand completely. I was very frustrated by the differing opinions I received. My last doc told me I would need a complete shoulder replacement in 3-5 years and that I needed to stop lifting or it would be sooner. That was almost five years ago, and I’m doubly as strong now as I was then. He also said there were no effective options other than replacement, which is dead wrong. There are plenty that give one an opportunity to avoid a replacement, sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. I’m sure as Hell going to try them all before I get a replacement. Best of luck to you, brother.
