😂😂😂😂 I just almost spit out my water while driving.

Well played sir.

I someone reads pages 4-14 of 106 page thesis , I would be ok. I am confident in my clinical knowledge and especially my Compassion( dont laugh). I still talk to non responsive patients and their families to see if there is anything that could tell me if during a gravity feed, they have pain or stuff like that. Trauma ICU ate me alive, ER too! 1200 bed level one 5 bay ER that gets a MVA of 3 patients etc. ADD is too much But, you younger guys smoke me on the research…i want go to the gigantic encyclopedia of hursing hardcopy…the amount of info online is staggering. I still really should have the RN because im older and been on here longer!!! So there!

Ohh compassion is not my strongest trait. I’m better suited for those that need tough love, or those that are crashing hard.

I wish i was better at the compassion side. I’m just not.

An ICU nurse or Trauma bay…we get to where we belong. People couldn’t believe My abilities to Teach and mirror their education level or level of understanding. I love to have fun and break into my bro talk… But , I guess I am a great actor at work!!! It was so hard for me to keep my mouth shut working with all Women!!! If your a male Nurse that makes sense. They are great female nurses, But they tend to be very “emotion-driven”. I think Im starting my log today, a bit early. Supposed to be Auguast first ,since I am hijacking all the other posts.

I obviously know exactly what you mean. I too believe we end up in the specialty we fit. Bc of my resting “fuck you”face as my most recent new grad orientee called it, people are shocked as well when I go into teaching mode and match the level that you speak.

They all end up saying “I was so scared of you at first, but now I’m so glad I was assigned to you.”

The first thing I tell my new grads- emotions are not tools of cognition. Have them. Acknowledge them. But NEVER let them dictate your care.
