Interesting newish social network. Gab, free speech oriented platform

In the news again is Gab a platform that gave alex jones a channel when he was banned from twitter and other social networks. Its been billed by the media as alt-right platform and its politics section definitely leans right, but reddit, facebook, and twitter all lean left but no one calls them out. Well they do but no one covers it and they ignore it.

Now politics aside, its actually a super cool concept in how social networking should go. Its like combining reddit, facebook, and twitter in one. The privacy features are great and you can choose to be in groups of your interest or follow friends only and see their content. This really how social media should be from a platform perspective. Real users, dont have use your real info for an account. They dont track for advertising (add free and paid accounts keep it alive).

A look at the software side of it is a great UI and development practices. At 2 years old its growing steady. You can read more on their funding page where they were trying to raise 10k and instead raised over 1 mil.

Just a quick disclaimer: I dont believe in all the politics side but I do love the software platform and want to see where it goes in a couple years. You can choose which topics you see/ dont see.

Been meaning to check it out for a couple weeks, thanks for posting. Very interested in seeing what it evolves into. Much like you, not interested in all the politics either.

Yeah I just dont subscribe to those groups. The layout and design is great tho. Havent seen anything like it. Im sure one day someone will clone it or copy it even. Im not one for social networks really but this one I love the style and having a private account to connect with friends and family much like facebook but without invading your privacy.
