Hi,
Recently joined member here, just saying hello to everyone.
I’ve been lurking for a week or two, trying to get familiar with the forum, and it seems like a great place,so I thought I’d introduce myself.
I’ve done a fair bit of research, and had been thinking that I could rely on a well known review site [Don’t know if I’m allowed to say which one],but found lots of people,on many forums saying they’re selective scammers, and, while reading these posts, came across several mentions of UGMuscle,so I thought I’d try it out.
Some background : I’m 57,now,and lifted from 14 to around 30 years of age - first 5 or 6 years, never missed a workout. From then, trained on and off, enough to stay in shape - till a long, pretty serious illness derailed me in my early thirties.
I’ve continued to have an interest in weight lifting/bodybuilding,and used to still occaisionaly buy the magazines in the ninties.I got my first PC in 2000,and
after a while started visiting some BB sites, and forums.I guess once it’s in your blood,it’s there for life, even if you’re not fit to train for years at a time.
Anyway,I recently decided to go on some TRT,and,of course,Test is the only thing that doctors will prescribe here in Britain, and I wanted some Deca, for my aching joints, but the TRT seems to be helping as it is,so that’s good. It seems like my Test levels have been chronically low for at least a couple of decades,as I remember getting them tested, after a lot of argument with my then “doctor”,and they came back at levels you might expect in a 90 year old.I was 37 at the time. I didn’t get any long term help with it.That’s typical of this country, unless your wealthy.
So,hopefully,I might be able to get into some light training, again, soon, though I’ve got injuries absolutely everywhere, from whatever was wrong, healthwise, and from keeping trying to train,at least as much as I could, for years, rather than just giving up,and admitting defeat in my thirties.Well, eventually,I was defeated, ending up more or less crippled. But,hopefully,I might be able to turn things around now,at least a little bit.I can always hope, right ?
It seems that although all of the fundamentals of training with weights, which I was very lucky to learn in a great old-style weightlifting club, were mostly bang on,there have certainly been advances over the years.Among the most important being the recognition that men my age,and often younger, need TRT,for basic health, let alone trying to rebuild a badly damaged body.
Also,i used to go hell for leather at everything i tried.I won’t be doing that now.Even managing to stop the rot,and maybe make a little progress, would definitely seem like a major achievement to me now.Kinda like being grateful for small mercies.you can only play the hand your dealt - or left holding - in this case.Anyway,i’m going to feel great about any progress I can make,at this point in my life.
I must thank the admin, and Mods,as well as all the other members for making this forum such a wonderful place.
Not trying to suck up to anyone, just giving credit where it’s due.
After discovering that I couldn’t rely on the previously mentioned review site,I seriously doubted that I would find a forum that I could trust, let alone one where politeness, good manners and helpfulness reign supreme.
But,having spent quite a few hours over the past couple of weeks lurking, and reading many threads,as well as the rules,I can say that I feel very confident and secure about this forum.
Sorry for writing a short book here.I hope you don’t mind if I wind things up with a request : I would really appreciate some advice on how to PM someone on this forum.I’m at Trust Level 1,so,as far as I understand it,I should be able to PM members, but I can’t seem to find a way to do so.It’s probably right under my nose, but I can’t seem to find it.
Also,I can’t seem to figure out how to complete the beginner’s tutorial.Again,I’m probably just being dense, but I’d still appreciate any advice.
To anyone who’s read thus far I can only thank you for your patience.
I genuinely look forward to getting to know many of you.
Very Best Wishes to All.
