Kids following example

This was one benefit of building my own home gym in the garage. I have 5 kids, one is 13 so I’ve been starting to get him into the basics (currently playing football and travel baseball). The rest are a bit too young, though them seeing what goes on in the gym definitely has skewed their interests as they all want to lift weights 😀.

It’s great when you can find a way to set the example such that your kids look forward to exercise and kind of get that it is important. Mine have at times been very pumped to go one just 1 to 1.5 mile walks, so I’ll take them with me before I go 3-4 miles. For me walking has been sufficient to drop my body-fat % to what my goal was (roughly 15-20k steps on top of lifting programming). Sometimes will walk on an incline treadmill that I have in the basement, but with my zoo of 5 kids, I think I get my cardio in pretty easily. 😀
