Mail service collapse

Not me, though I would love some time off!

Thing is, Congress has hamstrung the USPS for too long, having to prefund retirement 75 years in advance, workers that aren’t even employed yet, only company that is required to do that, I’d like to know what the government has done with that money.

There’s a ton of stuff USPS could do to cut costs that Congress won’t allow them to do, 5 day delivery on letters and flats, they’d still do 6-7 day PKG delivery, and not being able to change the mode of delivery.

If they did fail Amazon would probably take over delivering the mail. Just another thing that would go private instead of being a government company.

Funny you say that, b/c Trump has repeatedly criticized the USPS for not charging Amazon enough. He seems to think that Amazon is basically getting a free ride putting their packages on USPS, hence the heated rhetoric. IDK if that’s true, but I still thought it was a weird coincidence 😃

Also: That same law implemented price caps on the services USPS offers. So in the same law, they handicapped them by requiring redonkulous amounts of savings and then at the same time made it harder for them to make money due to price controls.

Exactly, we actually make money off of Amazon, I think it has more to do with his feud with Bezos.

People still bitch at a stamp costing .55 cents, like drive that fucker there and see how much it costs you.

Don’t get me wrong though, USPS is top heavy as well, too many cooks in the kitchen coming up with useless shit to justify a job.
