Protein Intake 1.6-2.4g/kg

I aim to get in about 1g of protein per pound (I prefer the metric system). While on gear or TRT do you find that you can utilize more than the recommended dose (1.6-2.4g/kg)? I find it tough to get in more than 200-215 grams per day while maintaining my svelt 12-14% BF. However, if there is data showing it’s beneficial and increases MPS, I’d be willing to give it a go.

I’m thinking there’ll be a split on the good ole internet on what to take. Me personally somewhere between .75 and 1gm per pound. Then again i don’t run any crazy cycles anymore either.

I’m around 300-350 a day but I’m just intaking all the food I try and stay around 1per Pound

I’m 200lbs but on gear you have more protein synthesis as well as the rule being for the average population and not for athletes so I tend to stick to higher numbers like 300-350 but I eat a lot more than the average person. I don’t think you’ll notice a crazy difference if your eating at least your body weight in lb/g

Yeah I packed on quite a bit when I decided to start all this then committing to TRT I’ve just hovered at this weight. I’m still decently lean as my body responded very well to the increase in food. Before I was in a very lean and unhealthy state with body image problems and eating disorder but it’s all been good for the last couple months.

Sounds like a plan I get labs and bloodwork done as well as blood donations but haven’t done an echo or ultrasound yet. I’ll get it done to take a look at what’s going on on the inside

I would encourage you to think 20 years ahead and not 20 weeks. Hard to grab that pro card with a left ventricle that looks like a worn out balloon.

I’ve been looking into the victor black masterclass protocols and his teachings and it’s changed my outlook on gear as a whole. If you don’t know who he is, basically he says run the most benign choice like test, primo. Made for humans then run it at the lowest effective dose and titrate up and run it until you can’t anymore due to sides or other factors. It gets more nuanced but that’s the gist of it

Lol yes most would say I’m quite familiar with him. I was the hype man for less is more and low and slow before I ever knew who he was. I give credit to his school of thought regularly on here.

I’m hoping you’re saying you are using this moving forward bc 50lbs in 11 months doesn’t happen using his framework and I don’t think your heart will take another 11months like the last 11.

It doesn’t take much protein to grow. It’s when cutting that you want a lot of protein to spare muscle. I like around 300 grams while cutting. My friend who was 315Lb said even 100 grams off season is enough to grow.

200lbs!

You get your “man card” now…joking joking for all of my lean brothers.

I agree with @NeuroRN study that bloodwork and get the tests. Please keep an eye on blood glucose levels/a1c etc also. Don’t let the betes sneak up on you.

You’re determined for sure. Just keep an eye on overall health.

The above was not telling you what to do…just a suggestion so you can stick with us for a lot longer.

My story…may be right or wrong…I’ll never know.

Mid 40’s…packed on ~20lbs for a run at some pr’s on platform. Took about a year or so. No exotic amounts of gear just food n training…test/eq/dbol.

It worked i was a stuffed little piggy…strong as heck and not overly “fat”…more like husky with some veins.

After lifting i was so uncomfortable that I backed off the 20 lbs…. But I’ve always been curious if that laid the groundwork for my beetes.

My usual mcD’s meal was two big macs two double 1/4 pounders with cheese…fries and a drink. Large pizzas didn’t stand a chance.
