I found a handful (~20) individually packages pins up in the attic. They’ve been there a while. I was wondering if expiration date really meant anything. Full disclosure… they exposed to extreme southern summer heat for at least two summers.

It’s not imperative that I use them. Just curious.

I’d say no. The heat might possibly have dried up those plungers. Then adding the oil to them. They may not hold up. Then you have particles of rubber plunger in your oil. Just a possibility.

Yeah that’s probably right. I’m going to 86 them.

It gets brutal in our “over the garage” storage.

Yeah I didn’t even consider the plungers. The heat has deteriorated super thick garbage bags up there.

Thanks for advice.

These are who I would ask also lol. Personally if needle is sharp and shit isn’t melted I would try it. I’ve used 3rd world country shit painful as hell tho. Barbs from not smooth needles and shit 😂

We had a topic in the past about it… Mines stay in the cool bag in my closet. I am in the North East tho! Mines are from the 2017 or older lol

I guess it depends on how desperate I am. If getting new pins was a stressful situation then I’d take one of those old ones, put a little oil in it, push it out slowly and look for any abnormalities like rubber sticking to the inside of the syringe from the melted rubber plunger. If the oil comes out smoothly with no visual loss of oil in the back of the syringe or along the sides, I’d use them. If replacing them is easy with no distress where I live then I’d order new ones.

I believe all thing used for human consumption and or injection under FDA need expiration dates. For me? If it’s not warped or the plunger isn’t disintegrating, and the plastic is in tact, I’d use them. I have 5 yo pins and barrels. Now, they have been kept in a lock box in my basement, but nothing is wrong with them. 🤷‍♂️
