205lbs , benching 300 at the moment. My goal was to originally weigh around 225 repping 315 , that seems very attainable in the near future at this point . What's yalls numbers ? Give me some inspiration!

Fyi… I never single rep max out in the gym with meets on the schedule. With no meets scheduled… maybe once a year. Nowadays… never.

Out of all the reading Ive done. One of things that stuck out to me is never miss a lift in the gym. It applied to me. If I concentrated on speed, form and reasonable progression in the gym…I performed well at the meets. If I made poor selections in the gym and missed lifts… I performed badly.

Sorry for multiple posts… I haven’t benched in 2 months after the meet. Yesterday I took 225 for a few sets of 1-2. It felt ok. Ramping back up very slow

I miss lifts but not often

My PR is 300 at the moment, I started out weighing 160 pounds , was weak as hell! That was last July, so I'm about 10 months in on my journey. Wish I had some brothers around me on the same grind to push me harder
160-> 205 in 10 months. That’s impressive. Do you have any pictures you’re willing to post?

The first one is a couple months in I was still fairly little, this bottom one was over the winter while I was bulking, the one I posted originally today is me currently working on shredding down I was weighing about 220 at my peak bulking , wish I had some brothers around me like yall too really push me to full potential! I train alone alot so I am timid as to how heavy I lift having no partner to train with

I'm getting a check up right now, they did say my BP is high, what is your advice on that ??
1. Lose weight.
2. Cardio is non negotiable. 5 days a week minimum 30 min with HR between 125-135.
3. Get your steps in. 8-10k a day.
4. Clean your diet up.
5. If you’re using gear Telmisartan is a must. It won’t help a ton with BP but it will some, but the boat loads of other risk factors it mitigates/manages is unmatched for bodybuilders or strength athletes.

IMO it looks like your bulk got away from you. It sounds harsh, but it’s true. You’re having BP problems, headaches, vision problems. Lose the weight.

What’s your blood sugar average? If you don’t know add HGBA1C and fasting insulin levels to your lab panel. The head pressure and vision problems could be glucose related which opens a new can of worms.

Okay, I'm not sure what my blood sugar levels are , I'm going to have all the blood work done and go from there. I appreciate the advice brother, I'm planning to make a life out this stuff so I want to make sure I know what I'm doing!

Get a glucometer. They are $25 on Amazon.

There’s lots of good stuff here. Lots of stuff that my view point has changed on over the years. But here’s a hot take:

1. Define your goals clearly. You wanna be a powerlifter, or a body builder, or be 225 with abs. Whatever it is, define it.

2. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE FUCKING LIFESTYLE. gear is my cheapest expense. Even before being a rep. Food. Labs. Supps. Time.

3. If you can’t afford labs, and constant health monitoring you can’t afford gear. Plain and simple.

4. There’s no shortcut to quality strength and muscle. This shit takes time. And lots of
It.

5. You’re going to pay the piper in some form or fashion in direct correlation to how hard you push your body. You wanna blast a
Grams of gear and bulk of McDonald’s and KFC, it will catch up to you. Every single time.

6. Take criticism well, especially from older more experienced guys. They are a true goldmine, thicken your skin and listen to what they are saying.

I could go on for days but you get the gist.
