Ditto every thing @Neuro said.

As an advanced age lifter… Ive been given all kinds of advice. Mostly good some bad. We had no internet when I started and labs weren’t really a thing unless you were dying.

A bp cuff arm or wrist (arm is more accurate) can be ordered on amazon too or Walmart.

There’s cumulative damage that occurs over time. For example… ignoring your bp or sugar will lead to all kinds of nasties… it’s a slow creep… you can be a diabetic with hypertension before you know it and will effect your vision and renal function.

Get a glucometer. They are $25 on Amazon.

There’s lots of good stuff here. Lots of stuff that my view point has changed on over the years. But here’s a hot take:

1. Define your goals clearly. You wanna be a powerlifter, or a body builder, or be 225 with abs. Whatever it is, define it.

2. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE FUCKING LIFESTYLE. gear is my cheapest expense. Even before being a rep. Food. Labs. Supps. Time.

3. If you can’t afford labs, and constant health monitoring you can’t afford gear. Plain and simple.

4. There’s no shortcut to quality strength and muscle. This shit takes time. And lots of
It.

5. You’re going to pay the piper in some form or fashion in direct correlation to how hard you push your body. You wanna blast a
Grams of gear and bulk of McDonald’s and KFC, it will catch up to you. Every single time.

6. Take criticism well, especially from older more experienced guys. They are a true goldmine, thicken your skin and listen to what they are saying.

I could go on for days but you get the gist.
I appreciate you brother! I'm sure I'll be jumping on here quite often as questions arise or advice is needed

My PR is 300 at the moment, I started out weighing 160 pounds , was weak as hell! That was last July, so I'm about 10 months in on my journey. Wish I had some brothers around me on the same grind to push me harder
I feel this all too much if I was gym with guys more similar to me I’d probably do better being pushed harder. I train by myself as commercial gym setting

The first one is a couple months in I was still fairly little, this bottom one was over the winter while I was bulking, the one I posted originally today is me currently working on shredding down I was weighing about 220 at my peak bulking , wish I had some brothers around me like yall too really push me to full potential! I train alone alot so I am timid as to how heavy I lift having no partner to train with
Top picture looks weirder than a son of a bitch. How tall are you?

I was weighing around 190 in that picture! It was taken at an angle my buddy was standing on the porch when he took that picture haha. I thought you were meaning the bulk photo I was like yeahhh I looked a little fluffy there for sure haha
