Safety guy wasn’t bored, he was looking for a ladder so he could get himself into trouble. I told the kid to act like this guy doesn’t exist if he walks on site, as you can imagine he did not retain these simple instructions. The ladder was not DOB approved and I got a phone call shortly after this. Kid doesn’t realize yet not to volunteer yourself or try to kiss ass. He did however learn about overhead work with a hammer drill, never once thought to just go up to the next floor and drill down. Said his shoulders hurt, I said pain is just weakness leaving the body, he didn’t understand that either. Kids a work in progress.

20 years from now that kids gonna be talking about how he was an electrician for a year when he was 19 then decided to go to college, which he will then be paying off late into his life.
