Taking time off and effects

Good morning to all, hopefully everyone isn’t suffering from Christmas cookie hangovers. So with my recent hernia surgery…I will most likely be out of full gym mode for a month…beginning rehab cardio movements next week and 10-15 dumbbell movements. My question is…how many of you have taken a month off and what were the positive and negative physical results. Decide to get out of the city for a few days and take the family to a treehouse upstate for some quite relaxing time to assist in the healing! Hitting some light hiking today. image|375x500

I’ve been on doctor monitored TRT for 4 years and will most likely never go below a therapeutic 100-200 mgs of testosterone per week… so my question focused primarily on training.

I’ve had to go as long as 9 months without training before. Bad motorcycle accident and broke bones in my hand and wrist. It took about 4 months before I was able to lift heavy after getting out of the cast but within just a few months I was back to my old self. A month off isn’t going to be too bad. You’ll lose some strength and endurance but within just a few months you should be right back where you stopped. Just take it easy and make sure to heal properly before going all out or you’ll be back in surgery.

Beautiful pictures brother . I would suggest bodyweight training. Pushups are the best . Hope you heal and get back to working out soon brother

I have had several injuries and surgeries where I had to take significant time off from the gym. Your body and muscles have that muscle memory and they will bounce back fairly quickly. Great thing about taking forced time like that is how rejuvenated you will feel once you’re are back at it. Biggest hurdle I had was remembering I could eat like I use to . That place looks amazing…good luck on your rehab bro.
