I got some bugging my head. What do we think about recent female body builders dying at the age of 37?

I am not the one to speculate. However, strongly feel some is wrong with the sport.

What are your thoughts?

I’m pretty ignorant to the inner workings of the sport but I do believe the prep might have something to do with it

Yeah I think the prep for them is a little too hardcore and needs to be dialed back some. They already run on practically nothing to begin with then add diuretics and other things and it's a very dangerous situation. It's sad hearing about the deaths lately.

This is the crazy part diuretics destroyed most BB individuals, especially in a high amount to ensure they meet that look. She also did like 8 show in less that 2 years or so.

That could be… is hard cause we speculate some many things. The coach also have had other athletes passed if I am not mistaken.

Very sad. Could be a combination of a predisposed condition and the grueling prep.

I think in today’s world we have more data than ever regarding female hormone use. The trans group has actually done us a huge service on this one. They are women using huge doses of hormones to actually welcome to virulization process, and none of them are dropping dead of heart attacks. (This statement is not meant to spark a trans conversation, only to highlight the data they are giving us regarding women and testosterone use.)

I believe young deaths like this are stemming from diuretic use, rec drug use, and/or inane dosing protocols.

I also think bodybuilding causes underlying genetic issues to be problematic earlier in life due to the stress and pushing limits.

Either way, I think there needs to be a change in the women’s side for sure. They seem to have pressed far past being able to compete and be healthy.

It’s sad either way, and my respects go to her and her family.

Interesting. I’ve never connected those dots. I wonder what the “usual” dosage is for transition from female to male. I would assume they might be like is meatheads and push the boundaries.

I concur with your statement. But let’s be real the sport is not going to get any softer, they want bigger and leaner muscles. Coaches have to real make a decision to not overload their athletes. I hate the social media platform specifically “IG iron whatever” it creates that bad rep for anabolic steroids…. We are all grown and def know what we are getting into, trying to make it in a safe way. But I do think you are completely right sir @Neuro

you can see fit model has progressed past the initial division standards already in the first year. It’s just going to get worse too.

I’m not really sure. I think largely they are driven by physicians, I’ve had a. Honest conversation with one person who transitioned or whatever the right word is and they were using 175 mg a week. So elevating to male levels.

Wow

Intrigued to what extent the would go right.
