What is everyone doing for training?

That’s cool. I am getting bored of what I’ve been doing lately, hypertrophy, been doing it all summer. Maybe time to switch it up a bit.

I just read a very good article on it. I forgot how brutal that program was. Very simple but brutal!

I can’t remember what forum I was in in the stone ages of the interwebz, I was on a few, but there was one specific where Dante was a member and a Mod and everyone there hated him, hated his method of training, it was kind of sad reading the shit people would post about him and dogg crap

I like the guy.

I know his training is not for beginners for sure.

He’s mindset is real close to mine when it comes to training economy time wise and simplicity.

I think that’s the disconnect.

He’s posted many times that dog crap is NOT for newbies. But many new guys attempt it and get hurt or have less than great results.

What are your goals? Getting bigger? I used to run PPL twice a week with great results, but lower body workouts were sheer torture. Since then I’ve started using RP male physique templates (MPT) which uses a upper/lower focused format with each day focused on a specific muscle group. See my log for a glimpse of what it looks like.

@anabolic_geek

Right now I’m trying to cut down and start fresh. So just maintain what I can in a calorie deficit. Then I’ll go into bulk mode. I feel like I need a better foundation right now so that’s the plan.

I’ll be sure to check out your log

My opinion and mine only…

Keep real good logs if you decide to adopt a pre written program. Run it for a minimum of 16 weeks. Make adjustments as needed or switch.

In a few years you’ll have a good idea on what works for YOU.

You then can take the path less traveled. Design your own program for your specific goals. After a decade or so you’ll know what will make you stronger, more powerful or bigger. You can have a hybrid that gets a little bit of all if you choose.

Example… I loved the conjugate but would injure myself on deadlifts frequently enough to scrap them altogether. I would just tweak the conjugate system enough to program them out and would take a token deadlift at meets.
