Wiping Vial Before Drawing

I want to get peoples opinions here as I have a tendency to be overly cautious. A couple of months ago when I was testing the gear I’m currently using, I drew from a new vial without wiping it with alcohol to use it for roid test. I didn’t think about it since I wouldn’t be pinning it but then I had some left in the pin so I stuck it back in the vial to use later. It then donned on me that I never cleaned the stopper either time I stuck the pin into it. Would you guys still use this or could I be exposing myself to bacteria since I never sanitized it?

I would use it still. That’s me.
I believe I have drawn a few times over the years. And forgot to wipe it.
Been using gear since late 1980’s.
But prob has happened less then 10 times.

You will be fine most likely. Just wipe it from now on. Most infections will come from not cleaning your skin properly.

Make sure you use it first tho. It takes a LONG time for bacteria to grow to risky levels. That said, if you’re not going to use it within a month or two, I would say toss it.

I have been using another vial so haven’t touched this one yet and it’s probably been about 2 months…

You could try pinning a small amount of it.

I agree with everyone above. Pin it a few times…no reaction good to go…or just toss it if you don’t feel comfortable.

I’m going to give you a “bad” example. I ran out of preps. No ability to get any. Just took a shower before I pinned. About 8 times. New draw and pinning needles and barrels is the most import thing to have. Now. Would I recommend doing it? No. But I didn’t have any issues. I think you’d be fine if the needles were clean. Shit in the military they swab you down once then you get 4 or 5 shots so there is that. Hell, I got tattoos in a clubhouse in the 80s….

I never clean anything with alcohol. I figure the benezole alcohol in the vial will kill any bacteria that gets in it,

If you’re real paranoid you could always heat it to 120 degrees F for 20 minutes to pasteurize it.

I wipe myself haven’t wiped vial in months. I know it’s bad but I just constantly forget about the villas

I’ll probably just pin it and keep an eye on it. It was just a one time thing and I didn’t even pin it that time
