the dedication, training, and the victory!
I couldnt imagine all the dieting he had to do, how many trainers were involved, and the sacrifices he had to make with his family!
Thanks for sharing the video. I’m not a bodybuilder but I seriously admire the hard work and dedication it takes. I love that Shawn talks about a lifetime as an athlete and the marathon that it requires to reach an advanced or elite level of fitness. I have to imagine that his background in soccer and track played a huge part in his success as a Bodybuilder. Also his comment about reaching the Pro level and the “real work” beginning.
Every athlete who not only meets their family commitments but also their athletic goals is a tremendous human being in my opinion. I remember this past winter Olympics seeing a documentary on a female skier who had a young baby and managed to get in 8 hrs training sessions on top of being Mom. Amazing people.
I think a lot of folks turn to AAS way to soon in their athletic development. They are hoping to skip over the years of hard work it requires to build the base of fitness necessary for the “real work”. I was one of them. I wish I would have paid the money for a coach 15 years ago and forgone a few cycles.
