Body Comp Transformation

All,

Here is an update on my journey back to fitness. I previously was very active into my late 20s but fell off due to quite a few life factors (not using this as an excuse).

Here are the keys that worked for me to get in shape and drop the dad bod (265 to 200 lbs).
  1. Resistance training is key. I built my own home garage gym and that eliminated so many excuses. Gym is always open. I have 5 kids so time is hard to come by sometimes , though my wife is literally a saint and pulls so much of the weight given she is a teacher and has dealt with kids from teen years.
  2. Eliminate eating processed foods and those high in sugar. Eat 1 gram protein per pound of body weight.
  3. Cardio only needs to be overall movement. Shoot for 10-15k steps per day.
  4. Anabolics certainly help but you have to put the work in regardless. At this point I’m focusing on longevity and health so have been dropping off the “supplements.” For me going above 500mg test was more than enough for me and my goals. My wife could honestly care less with me getting more jacked or ripped, that piece is something that I strived for (though she isn’t complaining about my body composition) LOL. I’m no monster but do appreciate the soft comments/looks if I’m not wearing a shirt. Only 500mg test was needed along with some proviron and EQ/NPP.
Here is my before and after pics over the past 1.5 years getting back into the game.

Congratulations! You look great! Diet and consistency are keys to doing this a little later in life, after one has let it go for a bit. I transformed myself back to looking decent over the past three years at the ripe old age of 56, and watching my macros and making a consistently high effort in the gym and doing it regularly did the trick. And some AAS.

Thanks man…most of it is just dedication to sticking with both the diet and lifting programming. Sounds simple but as we all know it’s tough. Let alone those shooting for sub 10% BF for a competition. That would break me and have huge respect to those that can drop that low even though it is usually just for a short period of time! That’s one thing I wish the general public understood…pics on stage and magazines are not typically long term looks and can only be maintained for a short period of time.

One and a half years is actually quick(ish) for such a giant recomp.

I wished everyone would be this patient whether it be going up or down.

Also wouldn’t be right if I didn’t give a shout out to the good pastor and @Ldog. Only Sponsor I went with and had blood tests multiple times and it’s definitely top notch.
