Let me start off by saying this is not bashing roidtest in no way, shape or manor.

In the past roidtest was touted as the end all be all test for our gear. I ask that you take a minute to consider a few things.

Roidtest is just like the labs we get our gear from. They’re unregulated and do not report to a regulating agency.

The color/vial/chemical reaction test is in no way as accurate as a lab test. It never will be.

The gear is manufactured by many labs globally and the process is unregulated and can vary slightly to majorly. This can skew a home test one way or another.

I’m sure roidtest is putting out the best product possible within a reasonable price range. I’m also sure they aren’t scamming anyone on purpose.

I would suggest using them as a tool for an initial opinion much the same as we would a doctor that says you need to amputate an appendage. We would probably get a second opinion and opt for more testing. That’s a big analogy I know but you see my point.

Is any of this perfect? Heck no! I believe there are labs you can send stuff to for a real chemical breakdown if that’s what will make you feel safe(r).

We also know that there are unscrupulous vendors. You’re going to get that with just about anything.

I personally only deal with vendors that I feel comfortable with.

I don’t have any concrete answers just suggestions.

Luckily we have several health care professionals on UGM that can offer up an opinion.

To put it plainly- Murph made it seem like these tests are always reliable and the gold standard. They are not. As I’ve said, others have said, and I’ll say again…. This is a tool. I think we need to move away from the idea that a sponsor has messed up solely based on the color test.

It should be used to open a dialogue with the sponsor.

If you look at the link TG posted to a batch of GC anavar, roid test was negative, then it was positive with lab max. Personally I have seen HPLC Testing contradict color reagent tests more times than I care to count.

The takeaway:

@anabolic_geek stated it well, there are so many factors that can skew a color test.

This in no way means members will no long be advocated for on UGM. this doesn’t mean stop using roid test. This doesn’t mean sponsors get a free pass when the color test doesn’t line up.

This means sponsors will still need to show adequate HPLC testing, or should. If they can’t, or won’t offer some sort of further testing action to clarify… it will be discussed but as a personal rule… don’t use someone that won’t stand by their product and offer more testing.

I know for some this is a big change in thinking… but it’s the appropriate one. This, in my opinion, is a way to create a better attitude and relationship between sponsors and members.
