Lol I used to love crossfit but never got big doing it and eventually always got injured. The intensity is awesome but you can do similar workouts bodybuilding.
Try some German volume training: squats 10 sets of 10 reps with 70% of your 1rm taking 90 sec between sets. Tell me that’s not brutal
Get some you savage! Lol. I used to frequent a CF years ago. I agree with @Kad1 there are some great CF gyms out there the conditioning is incredible too.
I use to do CF with my kids. We had a CF gym here and the owners wife would make a side WOD just for the kids. And they only charged me an extra ten dollars per month per kid. We had a lot of fun there. Good atmosphere and camaraderie!!! We never did anything that was extremely disruptive to the joints. It was more a matter of what you could do with a little Olympic lifting then the WOD. I loved the WOD cause I hate cardio but it was more intense cardio then any elliptical or stationary bike. My heart would be pumping hard and my lungs working at max capacity all while getting in a workout.
Not getting punched in the face is a bonus. Lol. That would take the fun out of it. I make up my own WODs now and do them at home after I get back from the gym. In my little town we have the YMCA but if there are more than five people there it’s a bit selfish on space to do a WOD. I usually do two per week focusing on legs and core. I should incorporate at least one more WOD per week with upper body. I can get a better workout on my heart and lungs in twenty minutes with a WOD then what I could get off an elliptical in twice the time. Plus an elliptical is so friggin boring and feels like forever. A WOD goes by so fast.
Not sure what I’d try with a big guy like you,im always going for the take down, not trying to stand toe to toe,but when you outweigh me by a Honda civic I’m gonna have to use weapons
