Estrogen in plant based “meats”

The doctor (cattle vet) that made this claim retracted it. Pointed out the difference in phytoestrogens and estrogen is important. Phytoestrogens are 1000x less active than estrogens.

Eggs also have 2.5 more estrogen than a beef patty.

I’m not saying eat a beyond meat burger. They are probably horrific for you. But it’s still important to note the guy who made those original claims said he was wrong.

I’m trying to make sense of the e2eqs measuring system. It looks like it’s they way of trying to equalize the measurements of the different types of estrogens by comparing them to e2. But I can’t find a baseline system of comparison… haha i didn’t look too hard. All of our foods have e2eqs beets, lettuce, eggs, steak…I think its a way to try to make the measurements the same for the different types and strengths of estrogens.

I would think some levels of them in Whole Foods is normal, my guess is the more processed the food the higher chance of having estrogenic effects/phytoestrogens. Also all the plastics nowadays allegedly have quite an impact. I myself find it hard to stay away from plastics but try to minimize the processed food intake.

Yeah there’s a great joe Rogan on the plastic and how they are basically ruining our bodies especially endocrine systems.

Yeah if you want to be healthy stay away fork
Those meat alternatives they have to make them taste good somehow which usually means high fat content and lots of preservatives. Now if you have a guilty conscious about eating animals have at that shit i guess I’ll eat meat till the day I die. Even if it has to be blended
