So I joined a new gym today! I’m a lil bit intimidated gotta say, I’ve never seen some of those machines before. 50 mile round trip. How long do yall drive?

Yeah man I could tell a lil of that would go on. I liked my old gym. Busted and broke and empty lol but I think Corona broke em. So yeah I dunno worth a shot

Ours reopen Monday. We got a pretty badass home gym rocking at the start of the shutdown, the wifey prefers more machines so we will probably try out a new gym that is supposed to open up relatively soon. I’m sure it will be packed as all new shiny gyms are.

It will be about a 40 mile round trip.

Smart move on the head start. I will definitely have to put together a personal gym in the shop if my hole in the wall gym can’t financially make it. Kentucky governor blows

Mine when open, is 3 miles from work. So I PT after work every night to let the traffic die down. When I’m home, I have a gym 10 min away. Old school equipment. Chalk box. Power lifting cage. Other half is machines and classes. Meatheads in the cages, everyone else on the other side. People will let you work in with them. And talk to you about guess what? Power lifting or if your doing something different want to try it out. I am really afraid it will be gone tho. They are killing businesses here for no good reason.

Exactly man, ky and tn are bleeding out. Tn is open but you can already tell some didn’t make it

The head start was all her plan and fuck am I thankful for her vision on that one!

@TBU we had killer spot like that about 20 minutes from the house and the owner just shut down for good as soon as quarantine started. It was such a bummer, I honored the memory by buying as much of his equipment that I could afford. Came out with a pretty new titan belt squat for the garage, but still would prefer the simplicity of that gym.

Its the little things that mess screw you up in these trying times. Like change of gyms for example, new drive new equipment learning who’s who there, where’s the water, if someone is using this you can swap over to something else… efficiency goes down the tube. Oh well clang and bang on, come to far to quit Now! 😤

At this time i utilize my hall way …my state has not reopened. My membership allows me to utilize all facilities available im about 20 miles away but i make it happen

Mines across the street from work, so I just walk over after work.
It’s always tough starting at a new gym, like you said, learning when’s the best time to go, who’s cool with working in, who’s not.
At my gym the machines are way outdated, I’d guess from the 80’s and horrendous to use, but the free weights are from around the same time and I like the old school dumbbells better than the new hex shaped ones. They did get new power racks, but I like the old school squat rack best, the old bars have a nice bend in them, perfect for squatting!
