This is the third time I felt this weird rip feeling run across my left chest. But this time it was in the middle outside and it run to my upper bicep. WTF is that??? And all 3 times I felt this, while benching light and high reps days 225lb for 15 or more rep. Is it because my bar is come down too high on my chest? Or should I just break away and do dumbbells only?

Ok I might be speaking out. BUT STOP now! I ripped my chest just like this many years ago brother. I never warmed up or stretched. You can still lift but on chest day Warm up and go light and STRECH and work back Into it. I have been there but had to have surgery don’t wish that on anyone.

@Kanaks sorry to hear about this. First, how long has this been going on? Are you warming up and streching prior to exercise?

Also, are you on cycke where you have grown over 15lbs in a short time frame? I would recommend hgh for starters but seems as you are putting on size quickly and the ligaments and tendons are trying to catch up but are behind.

If you are always hurting yourself doing a lift don’t do it. It’s those reps it doesn’t seem like your competing in power events

This is the third time in the last 6 months, but this is the first time the feeling ran up to my bicep. I do a lot of warm ups but my chest has always been tight, I stretch that muscle even on days I don’t do chest work outs.
I am currently off cycle, I just finished my pct last week the day it happened. I am actually cutting down on my weight which is why I was doing light high reps. In this month alone i cut down 13lb. I was 254lb down to 240lb.
It’s not a bearable pain, it’s a sharp uncomfortable feeling that lets me know it’s there. But this time right where I felt it run to my bicep 2 days later there were a light bruise Mark. And now 2 days after the bruise, the bruise went away.

Yes been running and boxing lately. Just waiting for the jiujitsu school open up and I might add those in too

it sounds like some kind of tear the fact that it’s happened three times in 6 months means it never healed all the way which will lead permanent damage and you could tear it completely off or lifetime pain the one thing none of us like to hear rest and honestly if you can afford doc to get mri or X-ray it could be other things such as a bruised sternum or rib or small fracture too you would be surprised however I’m not a doctor …but I play one on tv😀

Sounds kind of like a strain, your body’s way of warning you something a little more serious is on the horizon If you fail to listen. Like @Optumpharma said, if you’re getting strong quick, you need to remember your tendons cannot keep up with your muscles. About 7 years ago I fought a wicked biceps and pec tendon strain for about 6 months. Every time I would start to feel better I would ease back into things and before you knew it, strain again. It ended up keeping me out of two national qualifying meets, but I’m glad I listened to mg body and laid off. I have several friends who have torn pecs and pec tendons, it’s a nasty one to come back from, and even nastier if you do it a second time.
Listen to your body, lay off for a while and maximize the stretching, HGH will help, but rest is the ultimate healer here. When you ease back in, start light and stay away from unilateral movements, isolate each side of your chest using dumbbells or kettle bells. Once they’re even with each other, get back under a barbell, but don’t stop stretching and warming up… it’ll only get worse as you get older

Fully agree with everyone on this. Time off, take it easy, STRECH and some good HGH and you’re on your way brother. Injuries are no fun. I also have a theragun kinda gay but I use it and it’s incredible.

Solid I can’t speak to anything medical but 2-4 mins on the body group you are training it’s like you stretched for a hour.

Yes that sounds about right. I guess it’s time to rest. I’ve never taken hgh before, I need to do research on that. If anybody got advices on hgh I take it!

I’m recovering from surgery on a torn tricep now, it’s not fun at all. Definitely listen to your body. It’s letting you know something isn’t right.

I don’t really fuck with barbell bench any more. Just about every shoulder/chest injury I hear about is from barbell bench. Unless your a power lifter or have some reason it’s super necessary id just stick to dumbells.

Bench press was my favorite exercise for many years but I hurt my rotator cuff more times than I can remember so I now stick to machines. My chest is actually a hell of a lot better since switching. My favorite chest machine is wide hammer strength chest press because you start out wide and press forward and inward giving a real good squeeze of the pecs. I also do a lot more fly movements. I had a girlfriend who taught me that you recruit a more muscle fibers with flies than with presses. This has given my pecs a real rounded look instead of only having a good outer chest like those who stick to bench presses. I remember back in the day Dorian Yates switched out barbell presses for hammer strength presses and his chest really started to grow. That’s what convinced me you don’t need barbell bench press to have a great chest.
