I get sciatica every time I try to squat heavy

Get yourself one of these back stretchers that help decompress your spine. I use to get sciatica pain too. Started using one of these a couple times a week and its really helped the pain. Very handy after a heavy squat or deadlift session. They are pretty cheap on Amazon. I highly recommend it.

That looks good you just lay on it and it stretches the back out?
I have a horrible lower back and a sciatic nerve issue im looking for cheaper options I can’t use pain killers so I need something natural.
Interesting little item

Telling you it works. The psoas is a deep hip flexor that causes a lot of back issues. It’s all about balance, front to back, side to side. I’ll have to come up with a post on balancing your body. Your strict press should be a % of strict pull. Front squat is a % of back squat, deadlift etc. it super important not just for performance but injury prevention

I’ll do anything to avoid my sciatica from coming back, I’m guessing the heavier weight with the spinal compression of a squat causes enough tissue swelling around the sciatic nerve to give you that horrible sciatica pain until the swelling subsided.

I compressed the disk
In my back around the sciatic nerve last fall. I did it from making gains to fast I think. I was over training hard then my leg went numb for two months and my leg got weaker than my other leg. Now I have to train them
Independent or my strong leg does all the work. Best to slow down and figure it out before an injury occurs

Yea exactly, just lay on it for 5-10min a day or whenever convenient. I usually do it before bed. It’s adjustable too, 3 different heights. So you can start on the lowest level and move it up when your flexibility improves and you want a deeper stretch.

This is basically what I have been doing just using something else I checked it out but im not sold yet but interested

I believe that 100% I just think that it looks strange but when you look at what it can get done and how it works it makes sense.
It just looks really weird at first

Always a good idea to do unilateral work regardless of injury
