Hi guys, heard this forum is one of the best there is community wise and thought it would be good to start learning new things and having conversations with people with a lot experience.
Some info about me, I’m 23 and from Europe, around 90kg at the moment so around 200lb I guess, not sure about fat % at the moment, we get measured by mm so I’d day lowest ever before main competition, 74mm and now I’d say about 90mm, height 6’4 or 191cm. Been a competitive athlete/swimmer my whole life. Started lifting when I was about 16 with a couple of stops in between because of injuries. Always with programme from strength and conditioning coaches from swimming teams etc. Got some decent achievements lately and my dream and goal was always to become an Olympian and a pro athlete. I believe this is not out of grasp anymore as Ive progressed nicely the past two years. Also a Sports Science student.
Training routine at the moment is not the usual because of corona, I’m back home training mostly body weight exercises and some cardio work to keep fit and work on my weaknesses which are mostly explosivenes and strength. I’ve always been the athlete that never gets lean and its not sporty at all if that makes sense, but always performed well in the pool. Usually the normal routine when I’m properly training consists of 9 sessions in the pool and 3 in the gym.
On nutrition, I’ve always been quite good and have a good background from my studies. At the moment I’m on high protein intakes and mid to low carbs just because my body stores energy/fat like nobody’s business when I eat too much. But still around 2500cals a day at the moment. I’m lactose intolerant so I avoid whey protein but still consume some dairy products once in a while or so. Also some caffeine aswell.
Supplement wise, just a vegan protein and some all in one with creatine and HMB (lose doses of creatine and HMB). Also recently the past 4 months have been on and off this oral supplement that someone recommended I try, ecdysterone. I take around 500mg a day. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with it? I’ve read most studies available on it and I thought I’d give it a try.
Ive always struggled with keeping my weight in check even though I train a lot, meaning putting on fat and not a lot of muscle when I try to bulk up and get stronger. My body doesn’t really help me that much in that sense but I’ve accepted that. I’ve also got some gyno that came up when I was a teenager and growing up. Leading up to to an Olympic year and being an “unknown” athlete I wondered if it’s worth it to start my fist Test cycle to see how it goes. I’ve only gotten drug tested once not even by WADA but my countrys anti doping agency and they gave me a heads up too. So that would not be a major problem I think. Was thinking a 12-14 week cycle of only 350-500, not sure yet, of Test E, once a week. Considering I’ve already got some gyno I presume I’ll definetely have to get some Arimadex or Nolvadex? I’ve learned the basics at University and got some background on gland excretion and hormones etc but not on medicine etc. Plan is to maximise this early season gains and strength leading up to competitions starting In November or so. Got very weak joints especially knees, shoulders so I need to them to get a bit more sturdy aswell. Scapula dislocation is my go to injury.
Do you think this would be beneficial enough to be worth the money (student with low income), effort and the risk? I don’t plan on retiring any time soon so do you think this cycle will brag me down after I stop it? Like those 2-3 weeks waiting for the body to produce natural test again. Or would you recommend I start something else? Something I could not test positive and use on lower doses for longer periods of time? Or even just something else that will maximise my training and making me more explosive, strong and generally more sturdy of that makes sense.
Apologies If this is confusing. I’d appreciate any tips and as much honesty as possible. My whole life I’ve only done this, swimming, and I’m finally getting there but I need to push hard for one year to break through from amateur to professional. I train harder than anyone and I’m very strong mentally in all aspects. I’ve accepted that my body will not get me to where I want without help, at least not the next 12 months. Im almost 24 and already getting kinda old, in swimming of course. I’m planning to have the most focused and successful season of my life and give 100%.
Thank you so much for reading this and apologies for the long post. Looking forward hearing and getting to know you guys.
