@TG those look good! I’ll be throwing something on the smoker tomorrow, just not sure what!

As far as the holiday, just another night. All our daughters are gone, doing their own thing’s now one has her own family, one is in college, and our youngest thinks friends are more important than us, haha! I’m 5 days away from my hip replacement surgery, so I probably won’t even look at any alcohol… maybe I’ll go to the gym later, depends on how I feel

Dam 3 daughters I feel empathy and sympathy for you, I only have one, and she’s only 8

Thank you! It was rough, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything! Our oldest daughter had a boy last year, so I’ll finally get to do all the stuff I couldn’t do with them with him! Plus I can get him all sugared up and send him back to his mom! Haha

Ha ha yeah I treat the daughter like a boy, shooting a bow, riding the quad, sports, don’t cry just cause you bleed type stuff.

I tried that with our youngest. Taught her how to ice skate and tried to get her to play hockey like I did when I was younger, tried putting her in every damn sport we could think of in fact. She likes to shoot guns and even a bow, but she’s completely against hunting, even claimed to be a Vegan for about 3 months this year. Then I informed her once my hip was fixed I’d be deer hunting again, and she said “so well have deer sausage?”

Ha ha I laughed, I just made a small batch a venison jerky the kid was so excited

Next year it’s on! I’m going to hunt my dads place with land owners tags, and probably get both a bow and muzzle load license… it’s been too long for me

I had a couple. They are pretty cool to shoot. It’s a messy clean up after shooting. But still a good time.

@John do it, you’ll love it! Its just like bow, you gotta make one shot count! I started with a Hawken style musket, I put fiber sights on it to help just a little, but otherwise just used a round ball, patch and actual black powder… I use an NEF Heritage break action with slugs and pellets and a scope now, but I still used the Hawken from time to time
@TG, they’re a blast! I’ve thought about even getting into some flint lock type rifles and pistols rather than percussion cap to make it even more fun! Nothing beats the smell of burnt gun powder
