Does anybody else find that they get a better workout on a empty stomach. I’m not talking about empty empty but just empty. I tried to load up on some extra carbs pre-workout and was sluggish as hell. Even with no extra carbs it just feels more sluggish with food in the belly thoughts…advice?

While I don’t work on empty, but it’ll be something, since I workout at home I will drink a beer n eat cheese n pretzels, good aged cheddar, or hard boiled eggs but just the whites.

What you got for a good stretch on the lower back glute area… The leg press always kills me on my left side…but my right side always strong… Feels like spaghetti string getting pulled from my lower back to my upper hamy…

Ha ha thanks. But to be serious, I love my carbs but not before my workout

For glutes I like to do hip thrust used to use the smith machine to go real heavy and not worry about having to worry about stabilizing

I like pop tarts… frosting or no frosting?, they use to give us strawberry ones over seas with no fucking frosting, it was stressful

Not sure if I could do no frosting! Strawberry is my favorite, but I’ll take Wildberry, Apple or Cherry too. And Lucky Charms with chocolate milk!

I hear what your saying about feeling sluggish during a workout but if I don’t have carbs before a workout especially after legs I feel dizzy and shaky. Not much maybe some fruit or something. I keep some haribo gummy bears in the car for some emergency carbs.

For me I think it just depends on the type of workout and for how long.

I don’t do bodybuilding (YMMV) I usually start my day with a strength specific lift and then move into my condition piece (metcon) and then accessory.

If the metcon calls for lifting and gymnastic type skills (muscle ups, butterfly pull ups, etc…) I’ll opt to eat before hand. If the metcon calls for heavy aerobic/anaerobic workout + lifting and/or gymnastic skills I like to have an empty stomach so I don’t get sick to my stomach.

Most days if I train in the AM I’ll do a bowl of oats w/ honey, pb, and banana. If I’m working out at night/after work it’s usually on an empty stomach with a half scoop pre workout of choice for the caffeine.
