New Log, Strongman Competition Training

Farmers walk tonight, did static holds with the 220 pound cans to work on grip, still can’t walk as far with them as I’d like, all the jostling around really makes em hard to hold on to. Was able to walk a city block with the 175 pound cylinders. Grip was still good, got winded though!
 
Tonight, squats and stones.

Did some 5x5 work on squats, decided to go a little heavier as I’m normally nervous about my knees, but 405 felt great on squats! Definitely having a belt has helped as well to feel more stable.

Stones was another story, that movement still hurts the shoulder, did the 150 stone for reps but had to stop due to shoulder pain unfortunately.

did you check out athelanx? Could be a labrum. I learned from him how to take a resistance band and stretch that shit out
 
I’ve saved some of the videos, just haven’t had time to sit down and watch em!

Seems like someone always needs something lol.
 
Since Wednesday last week, hurt my shoulder worse on Thursday last week, seen Dr on Friday, starting pt on Tuesday.

Friday last week did the 250 tire for reps, a lot of reps, and man it’s light but did my back seize up the next few days, wasn’t used to that volume! And it was great cardio, did about a city block on runs.
Monday, did squats, 405 for sets of 5-7 reps, sleeves came in and is that a game changer, so nice to not feel like my knees are going to buckle.
Tuesday, did stones for 10 reps with the 130 and no lap to really work my core and not stress the shoulder.
Wednesday did 120 pound cylinders for runs of a city block.
220 cans still put too much stress on the shoulder, did lift em and walk about 6ft.

No definitive answers on if they are cancelling it yet, it usually takes place during the festival for the area, if that gets cancelled, then there is a competition in August that’s about a 5 hr drive from me I plan to attend.
 
That’s what I was thinking, also I train with the guy that run the comp here and he said if they cancel July hes going to try for October during one of the big festivals.
 
Well doing heavy leg work today, took the cheque drops, .5ml 40min before the gym, focus seems a little better. I don’t feel any aggression, don’t feel that it’s increased my strength at all, do feel like the pumps are a little better.

Non of it was a big enough difference to tell for sure if the cheque drops did anything.

Maybe try a ml? Feel thirsty af though!

I can see why some people say the taste is bad, didn’t really bother me much, just shot it down my throat from a syringe, like giving your pet medicine.
 
I mean it was pet Medicine so there is that. I’m currently downing dmso everyday and people complain about the taste of it. Downs g bother me one bit
 
I like it used to have a fernet coin that at any bar I could put it down and and the bar tender could t pull one out it was a free shot right there. If bar tender pulls out coin then you have to buy a round of shots for the staff. Also used to do shots of green chartreuse on the reg.
