I go by Buz, 6,1 at about 190 Lbs, My squat max is 425 for 3, deadlift 435 for 2, bench press with a bar is for the birds, prefer the dumbbells for shoulder health and all around shape of the chest 🙌 but glad to have discovered this forum, weightlifting is my love so I feel right at home in this forum, done a fair share of cycles nothing crazy though I like doing things the healthiest way possible, I like letting the training and diet lead the gains and having a moderate amount of supplements to aid the body and getting the most out of my sessions, my body is pretty sensitive to stuff so never needed a crazy amount of anything but anyway looking forward to gaining new muscle and new knowledge on this platform 🙌

Welcome brother. I agree with you on the dumbbells vs barbell 100 percent. At least for us older guys with shoulder issues. I have to spend about twenty minutes warming up my shoulders before bench and struggle to hit 200 working weight and what damage am I causeing in the process? But 100 pound dumbbells no problem. Gotta do what works best for you

That’s a big difference. Maybe it has to do with the muscles we favored using while we started out and developed more than others. Hence favoring certain muscles that may stress joints differently cause like I said you have a massive difference of weight there. I’m an electrician so my hands are over my head all day long.

Welcome brother. A lot of people seem to steer away from barbell flat bench as they get older. I have supraspinitus tendinitis in my right shoulder just waiting for a chance to flair up, so Dbs for me.
